X-ScaleSolutions participated in this year’s second annual SmartNICs Summit which took place June 13 -15, 2023 in San Jose, California. This event is dedicated to SmartNIC’s market and allows network designers the opportunity to explore how the technology can make their networks more efficient.
In addition to serving as a sponsor, X-ScaleSolutions hosted a booth to demo the MVAPICH2-DPU MPI library. Founder Dhabaleswar K. (DK) Panda served as a panelist on SmartNICs in 2028 and How we get There and Chief Engineer Dr. Donglai Dai served on the Optimizing SmartNIC Applications panel.
During SmartNIC, we provided demos of the MVAPICH2-DPU MPI library, which enables applications to offload non-blocking MPI collective operations to DPUs and achieve a high degree of computation and communication overlap with almost no code restructuring. Offloading dense communication operations like Alltoall can provide significant benefits to the scientific applications running on HPC centers and Cloud environments. X-ScaleSolutions has demonstrated that MVAPICH2-DPU is able to boost the performance of the P3DFFT application by up to 48%.
